In July 2002 the Illinois Gaming Board launched a Statewide Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program for Problem Gamblers that allows persons who have determined they are problem gamblers to self-exclude themselves from all Illinois casinos. Illinois residents seeking information about the Self-Exclusion Program should contact the Illinois Gaming Board at 1-877-YOU-QUIT (1-877-968-7848) or (312) 814-8832. Non Illinois residents seeking information should call (312) 814-8832.

A person must travel to a designated Illinois Gaming Board Office or sanctioned enrollment site to complete the application forms necessary to Self-Exclude. It will take about 30 to 45 minutes to complete the enrollment process. All Self-Exclusion candidates must bring a valid driver’s license or state issued identification card with them to complete the process. Persons may enroll in the Self-Exclusion Program at the Chicago office of the Illinois Gaming Board located in the State of Illinois Building at 160 N. LaSalle Street. Persons may also Self-Exclude at Gaming Board’s Springfield office located in the Willard Ice Building at 100 West Jefferson Street.

Those seeking to Self-Exclude at the IGB Offices in Chicago or Springfield should call 1-877-YOU-QUIT (toll-free for Illinois residents) or (312) 814-8832 (for non-Illinois residents) to schedule an appointment to fill out the necessary forms.

Persons wishing to Self-Exclude can also enroll at all of the Illinois Gaming Board offices located at all riverboat casinos.

IGB staff located at the riverboat casinos will do their best to accommodate those seeking to Self-Exclude but may ask at potential Self-Exclude to return at another time if conflicts arise in the performance of their other duties. An appointment is not necessary to enroll in the program at an IGB office located at a riverboat casino. Enrollment sites are not compensated for participating in the Self-Exclusion Program and no fees are charged for enrolling in the Illinois Gaming Board Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program for Problem Gamblers.
